Minister of National Education Nabi Avcı and Minister of Health Mehmet Müezzinoğlu attended the ground breaking ceremony of the Eskişehir City Hospital. Both Ministers were greeted with flowers at the ceremony site. The ceremony began with a one minute silence and Turkish national anthem. Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Avcı stated, “Our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu and Minister of Health Mehmet Müezzinoğlu contributed greatly to this project. We have to thank all of them. This hospital is designed to become a health complex that will provide health services not only to the people of Eskişehir but to people of neighboring cities. I would like to thank all people who have contributed to the project. I hope that it will become a home of recovery. The hospital shall be completed in a very short period of time and start giving service to the people.”

Müezzinoğlu: “We are the members of society that considers service to people as a form of worship”

Meanwhile, Minister of Health Mehmet Müezzinoğlu talked about the services in the health sector adding that, “We are the members of society that considers service to people as a form of worship, service to nation is a duty. We talk about a healthy society as we believe that this will allow our flag decorated with crescent and star, fly more powerfully in the future and we want to provide the most developed service to our people.”

“We have scored achievements by joining forces with our people, nation. Our principle was based on a saying of our civilization which is “sorrows and troubles diminish with sharing, joy enhances with sharing.” We want to share the troubles of our people. We do not want our people to form queues in the middle of the night in order to see a doctor in the morning, we want to be the nation where people can make appointments via computers, have access to doctor’s consultation and all kinds of health services by using technology. We have worked very hard to make this goal possible.”

Noting that they are continuing to work hard within this framework, Minister Müezzinoğlu went on to say that, “Now, one million 150 thousand patients are going to hospitals every day for treatment. Tens of thousands of surgeries are done every single day. We will continue to give quality service to our people.”

Following the speeches, the ground breaking ceremony ended. In addition to Minister Avcı, Minister of Health Mehmet Müezzinoğlu, Eskişehir Governor Güngör Azim Tuna, Eskişehir Deputy Cemal Okan Yüksel, Eskişehir Metropolitan Mayor Yılmaz Büyükerşen, Anadolu University Rector Prof. Dr. Naci Gündoğan, Osmangazi University Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Gönen as well as health professionals participated in the ceremony.
