Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin hosted the technical committee and players of the Turkish Down Syndrome National Futsal Team, which won the championship by beating Portugal 2-1 in the final match of the European Championship in Italy, at the Ministry. 

 

Meeting with the President of the Turkish Special Athletes Sports Federation, Birol Aydın and the accompanying athletes at the reception held in the Teachers' Room Meeting Hall, Minister Tekin congratulated the players of the Turkish Down Syndrome National Futsal Team for their success. 

 

Having a conversation with the athletes, Minister Tekin stated that Türkiye has achieved great success in many branches of sports. Congratulating children for their European championship, the Minister expressed that special children sang the Turkish national anthem and waved the Turkish flag in an international organization. Noting that as the Ministry they will mobilize all their means to ensure they achieve greater success, Minister Tekin thanked the managers of the Turkish Special Athletes Sports Federation, the technical committee, the youth and everyone who contributed for making them proud and wished them success.  

 

Receiving training in institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education Directorate General of Special Education and Guidance Services, the players of the Turkish Down Syndrome National Futsal National Team, stated that their next goal is to win the world championship. 

 

Director General of Special Education and Guidance Services Mustafa Otrar was also present at the reception.
